Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Glenn A. Taijeron has retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving honorably for 30 years.

Taijeron was last serving as Senior Enlisted Manager for Cyber Operations with 9th Communications Squadron, Beale Air Force Base, Calif.

He is the partner of Susana Taijeron of Citrus Heights, Calif.

Tristan A. McCauley has received an Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) scholarship. Scholarships are awarded on a merit system in areas such as academic achievement, extracurricular activities, physical fitness, specific performance or accomplishment, leadership abilities, and personal interviews.

The scholarship entitlements include tuition and fees and an allowance of $600 per semester for educational assistance, textbooks, supplies and equipment, and a monthly stipend for up to 10 months of each school year during the first year at the host college or university.

Upon graduation from the host college and completion of the ROTC program, the student cadet receives a bachelor’s degree and a commission of second lieutenant in the Air Force. All scholarship students incur a military service obligation of eight years, which may be fulfilled by either serving on active duty or in the Reserve Components of the Air Force.

McCauley is the son of Devlin M. and Ryan F. McCauley of Newport News.

He is a 2014 graduate of Warwick High School, Newport News.

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Jeffery Chandler was recognized for being the Top Graduate at technical training school at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, TX.  He acheived a 98.4 percent class average topping all other airman in his class.

Selection was based on the individual’s exemplary duty performance, job knowledge, leadership qualities, teamwork, significant self-improvement, personal achievements, notable accomplishments, and community service and support.

Chandler is currently serving as a Hydraulics Technician at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark.

He is the son of Emma Parson of Malvern, and Charles Chandler Jr. of Nashville.

Air Force Airman Monet S. Bankston graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Bankston is the daughter of Adrianne Bishop of Powder Springs and granddaughter of Ralph Bankston of Decatur. She is a 2012 graduate of Hillgrove High School, Powder Springs.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Andrews is the daughter of Michelle and David Andrews of Salisbury. She is a 2013 graduate of Wicomico High School, Salisbury.

Merritt is the son of Carli Woodward and David Tyler of Middleburg. He is a 2013 graduate of Oakleaf High School, Orange Park.

Summers is the son of Kelly and Ronald Summers of Titusville. He is a 2010 graduate of Titusville High School. He earned an associate degree in 2012 from Brevard Community College, Cocoa.
